Diane Arbus, Karl Blossfeldt, Walker Evans, Lee Friedlander, August Sander, Tata Ronkholz, Albert Renger-Patzsch, Garry Winogrand, Piet Zwart and ten more positions – all these photographers are united by an artistic documentary approach, which is presented and simultaneously queried with Doing the Document. This exhibition owes its making to a donation of more than two hundred works by German and American photographers by the Cologne-based Bartenbach family.
