Anna E. Stark has been moving through streets throughout the world with her camera for 50 years, encountering people who place their trust in her when she photographs them uninvited. Respectful approach, counterpart’s unspoken consent, loving gaze at a rather everyday situation: she portrays people in the public space and thus documents contemporary events. 90 percent of her works were produced in analogue, and not even the more recent digital shots are post-edited.
