Technological evolution means that photographic portraits have become cheap, realizable at any time and available everywhere. Has everything changed because of it? What do we want portraits to communicate today and in the future? What do they give away about our society’s mental state? On this subject we show a host of large-format portraits by young photographers at the Academy. Specially for the vernissage: On this evening, we are setting up a whole variety of “portrait stops” where people can get pictured if they dare. A great free feature!
