In the exhibition REAL LIFE DRAMAS, black-and-white works by Mary Frey from her READING RAYMOND CARVER series of works and colour photographs from the years 1985-1986 are presented together in a solo show for the first time. The book of the same name is published simultaneously at Peperoni Books. Photographed at the interface between snapshot and staging, intimacy and distance, Frey’s photographs show charged, sometimes hyper-real everyday scenes of the American middle class in the Eighties.
