The photobook is among photography’s most original means of expression. A collection of images combines to form an entirely personal sketch of the world. A photobook’s fundamental qualities lie in consistent image selection and exciting sequences of photographs. In addition, attention needs to be paid to a harmonious layout, a suitable typography and a strong cover image. All design resources, plus the materials used, must work together perfectly so that they leave a lasting impression.

In his workshop, Wolfgang Zurborn introduces prominent photobooks and guides participants as they edit and finalize their photobook dummies. Along the way, the workshop sensitizes the participants to the diverse issues that need to be borne in mind when producing a book. Participants are asked to bring along image material in printed-out form, so that the photograph-editing process can be made visible to all.

This two-day workshop is for anyone who is passionate about photography and develops a personal imagery that makes them convincingly readable to others.
