The Photographer’s Night, a highlight of the Photoszene festival, has been devised and organised as a “gala of photography” for more than ten years by Manfred Linke (DGPh/Utopia Images). Screenings, talks and moderated conversations by renowned photographers as well as current newcomers provide an insight into their photographic positions, individual goals and working methods. The event, plus the get-together that follows it, draws photographers and photography enthusiasts to the Museum of Applied Arts in Cologne every two years.

High-calibre photographers have been gained for this format in past years. They include Albert Watson, Thomas Hoepker, Katharina Bosse, René Burri, Michael von Graffenried, Bettina Flitner, Peter Bialobrzeski, Christoph Bangert, Dominic Nahr, Daniel Etter, Nikos Pilos, Gerd Ludwig.

The invitees under this year’s title, “Masters of Photography”, include:

William Klein (US painter, director and photographer) and
Mads Nissen (multi-award-winning Danish photojournalist and photographer)
Moderator: Angela Spizig
