Art fulfils life for each of us in an individual way, through emotions and story-telling. Art creates meaning. But is it also possible for art to create education? The organization Art Meets Education made precisely that its task: Assisted by their creative potential, children from financially disadvantaged families receive schooling. Photographs created independently by children are shown in fund-raising exhibitions to finance their education up to high school graduation. With the support of AME, 17 children are currently attending a school in Manila.

The Photoszene festival is very happy to be able to introduce this project to many interested festival-goers during the second festival weekend. Selected photographs from the project can be viewed and purchased in the foyer of MAKK, with proceeds going to the “Art Meets Education” project.
