“Liebe deine Stadt” – this wording above Cologne’s north-south artery is known to all, and that is exactly what Cologne residents – known for their local patriotism – do. They love their city. So what if it’s notorious for ugly post-war architecture, laughed at for long-drawn-out restoration works or criticized for serious construction defects! The art project by Cologne-based artist Merlin Bauer, with his award-winning “Buildings of the Month” and the stories that they tell, are the departure point of our city tour. At the ensuing photography workshop with photographer Martin Schoberer (QVEST), a small group of us will then go off in search of places, buildings and people that make our city so worth loving...
job&kunstfreuende is aimed at all young professionals between 30 and 45 years of age who are looking to beat stress and get new ideas on tours or in conversation with artists, on visits to collectors and on curator-led tours! The out-of-the-ordinary programme for young members of the Friends of the Wallraf-Richartz Museum and Museum Ludwig opens up many a door to Cologne’s art and culture scene!
