In her new works, Verena Guther leads the viewer through some of the world’s metropolises, allowing these cities to unfold their effect in striking landscape or portrait formats. Her unique look at cities such as New York, Paris, Berlin, Shanghai or Istanbul is revealed through post-edits to her photographs: the artist creates collages that represent an interplay of photography, photocollage and painterly elements. The elements that she adds often stand out through strong chromaticity and unusual motifs.
