KUNSTHALLE RROSE SÉLAVY was inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s tongue-in-cheek talking and his self-portrait with a walnut in his cheek. Through investigative photography, the artist discovered in this portrait by Duchamp, who dressed as a woman and called himself Rrose Sélavy and signed artworks in this alter ego, an erotic close-up of Rrose Sélavy, which the viewer, similarly to his final work “Étant donné”, is permitted to look at voyeuristically through two peep-holes in a wooden shed.
