Tod Papageorge: Dr. Blankman's New York

For the first time, the Thomas Zander gallery is showing new dye transfer prints of Tod Papageorge’s early colour photographs from New York. In highly expressive images of display windows containing fruits and Brillo boxes, political posters and big city encounters, the series, created in 1966-67, records zeitgeist and societal climate between Pop Art and Vietnam War. In parallel, the gallery is showing Street Photography, Helen Levitt, Dieter Meier, Max Regenbrug and Beat Streuli.
