Photographer's Night

The Photographer’s Night, a highlight of the Photoszene festival, has been devised and organised as a “gala of photography” for more than ten years by Manfred Linke (DGPh/Utopia Images). Screenings, talks and moderated conversations by renowned photographers as well as current newcomers provide an insight into their photographic positions, individual goals and working methods.

Long Night of Projections

“Legends of Photography” is the headline of the “Long Night of Projections”, which is planned and held by the DGPh (German Photographic Association). Photographs by major photographers will be projected onto twelve surfaces for the duration of one night at the MAKK.

Streaming Pictures - featuring student photographic positions

The image presentation “Streaming Pictures”, featuring student photographic positions from throughout Germany, is on show in multiple projections at the MAKK.

A further projection installation takes a look at the evolution of a DGPh award and its winners.

DGPh Culture Award

This year’s formal DGPh Culture Award goes to the historian and photography theorist Wolfgang Kemp, in a ceremony that is likewise open to the public. The DGPh Culture Award has been handed out since 1959. With it, the DGPh distinguishes living personalities for important services in the field of photography.
